My Story...

The turning point in my life was when I began work as a secretary with a drilling company. The office I worked in smelt of diesel fumes, and had no windows or air-conditioning. After eighteen months of working there I was so ill I could barely walk. My face and eyes became swollen, I had a permanent headache, I had developed an allergy to cosmetics and perfume and lost more than two stone in weight.

Nobody could offer me any explanations for my illness, it was only when I told the doctors that there was a strong smell of diesel fumes in my office that they realised I might have toxic poisoning. At this point I was still dreadfully ill. New clothes bought me out in a rash, I felt sick if I handled paper and I even got violent pains if I went into a room with new furniture. I just wanted to lie down and die

At this point I was desperate and as a last resort made the decision to visit an Allergy Specialist/Homeopath. I have always had an open mind about alternative medicine, but to be honest I wasn’t really expecting her to be able to help me. However the first information I received form my therapist she told me was that allergies are very commonplace and can be treated.

After a thorough consultation she told me I had developed severe allergies and liver damage. I’d almost become allergic to the 20th century. She gave me some homeopathic pills and a diet for my liver to help remove the toxins and within days I started feeling better. A month later I knew I was on the road to recovery.
My recovery was somewhat of a revelation for me and, with my therapists encouragement, I enrolled onto a correspondence course to learn homeopathy, nutrition and allergy treatment with the British School of Yoga in Devon. I passed the 24 month course in 10 months with a distinction. Passing this course gave me the confidence to go on and I resolved that I would make complementary medicine my new career.
